Owners Paul and Ranessa Fernander have worked for over a year to create a neighborhood dining alternative that Greenville would love.  The Plaid Pelican is exploding into Greenville’s market with a neighborhood restaurant that will provide its residents, tourists and working population with fresh, perfectly prepared seafood, catering, fast to-go service, signature items, and a great atmosphere.  Loving food and dining out, the Fernander’s felt there was an immediate need for the Plaid Pelican concept offering families affordable, consistent seafood dining.   Paul Fernander has studied the business of food for 23 years.  A working chef, Paul is more than ready to apply all he has learned to his own restaurant.  Myrtle Beach born, Paul has worked under the study of several prominent Low Country chefs.  He has refined his culinary skills to focus on coastal favorites.  Not only does Paul have a keen understanding of the restaurant industry, but he has focused his attention towards superior customer service.  Having purposefully held every position in the restaurant industry from dishwasher to management, Paul is creating a restaurant that has its own flair and personality.   The Plaid Pelican will provide Greenville with a consistent seafood based casual dining experience.  This experience will take you back to the wonderful days spent on the coast enjoying cold beer and wine, great seafood and good friends.    Paul and Ranessa, recently married, and have three boys, Pierce 10, Jack 6, and Chad 3 months.  Ranessa is a music teacher at Chandler Creek and also directs music at John Knox Presbyterian.
